Distinguishing Between Menstruation and Irregular Bleeding
My cycle is irregular; four months ago it was absent, then it came at the beginning of Ramadan and I broke my fast, then it came at the end of Ramadan and at the beginning of Shawwal I did not fast for almost ten days. What is the ruling?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: If you see menstrual blood and it lasts for three days or more, then it is menstruation. If it is less than three days, it is not menstruation but rather irregular bleeding. And Allah knows best.
