Distance for Shortening Prayer
My home is about an hour away from my family's home by transportation, is it permissible for me to shorten the prayer when I visit them?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The distance for travel in which prayer is shortened is more than (80) kilometers one way. If the distance between your home and your family's home is this distance, then it is permissible for you to shorten the prayer; otherwise, it is not. And God knows best.
