I say, and with God's success: If the husband is ill and unable to fast during Ramadan, he has no expiation, but he must provide a fidya, which is feeding a needy person for each day. If he is able to fast during Ramadan and has sexual relations with his wife, he is required to make one expiation, even if there were multiple acts of intimacy during Ramadan. He must also make up the days he missed along with the expiation. If he is unable to fast for sixty days, he must feed sixty needy people. And God knows best.
