Question
A lady wishes to read a completion of the Holy Quran for her deceased father and for herself, but she is slow in reading and fears that Ramadan will pass without completing both. Is it permissible for her to read one completion for both of them together?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to dedicate the reward for all acts of obedience, for both the deceased and the living, and it does not diminish the reward of the living. Therefore, one can perform the recitation on their behalf, and God knows best.
