Converting Debt to Fitr Charity
A person has money owed to another, and he asked him to pay it on his behalf as Fitr charity for a specific person. Is this action permissible?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible for the debtor to pay the Zakat al-Fitr on behalf of the creditor from the debt with the creditor's permission, and God knows best.
