Question
My grandfather passed away 10 years ago and he had shares in the Jordanian oil refinery, which are in his son's name. Every year, his son distributes the profits from these shares to his siblings. Are these shares considered halal or haram, and do they involve usury?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The original ruling regarding these names is that they are permissible because they pertain to something allowed, except for those that relate to usury, in which case it is required to give them in charity, and God knows best.
