Contracting with Non-Muslims

Question
How do we respond to those who say that the Prophet (peace be upon him) dealt with the Jews, buying and selling from them, and did not boycott them, even though they were enemies of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: The fact that they oppose us in the essence of the religion does not mean that we must boycott them in transactions. The Prophet (peace be upon him) engaged in this, and he is the one who brought us the legislation from God Almighty, and he is our role model. On the contrary, engaging in contracts with non-Muslims can stimulate trade and benefit Muslims. However, this does not apply to those who have occupied our lands and taken our sanctities. Rather, we should weaken the occupier, not strengthen them, and we should strive hard for that. If boycotting serves our cause and supports our people, then we must do so, and God knows best.
