Consumption of Zakat Money

Question
A person has a zakat obligation of 2000 dinars, and he bought a house with the money that was due for zakat, leaving him with no money to pay the zakat. He then received a small amount of money as inheritance. Is it better for him to pay zakat with this inheritance, or should he complete what remains for the house in terms of furniture and necessities while paying the zakat in installments throughout the year?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is obligatory even if delayed; it is permissible to postpone its payment, but it remains a debt on his conscience. And God knows best.
