Conditions of Sacrifice

Question
What are the conditions of sacrifice, and is it permissible for the family, including the wife and children, to eat from it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The sacrifice is obligatory for every Muslim who is a resident and financially capable: that is, one who possesses the minimum amount that exempts him from zakat, which is 100 grams of gold on the day of sacrifice for himself. One should not sacrifice an animal that has a defect; such as a blind animal or one that is lame and cannot walk to the slaughterhouse. It is not permissible to sacrifice an animal with a severed ear or tail. Among sheep, a ram that is a year old or older is sufficient, except for lambs, where a six-month-old lamb is permissible. The meat of the sacrifice is eaten, and the rich and the poor are fed, and it can be stored. And God knows best.
