Concealing Charity
I love to give charity, but when I do, I send it to the recipient through one of my friends as if it is from a benefactor and not from me. I do not like anyone to know that I am the one giving charity. Does this count as a secret act between me and Allah, the Almighty? Honestly, I do not know anyone poor or in need, except through my friends, and here I want to give charity but in the name of a benefactor?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The principle of charity is that it should be done in secret, so that the right hand does not know what the left hand spends. Whatever good you do is considered a hidden treasure for you with God Almighty, meaning: all the reward of charity is yours, and your friend is your agent in giving charity, and God knows best.
