Question
My husband swore an oath of divorce that if I did a certain thing, then you are divorced three times. The sheikh advised him that he must perform the expiation for the oath because he did that action. How much is the value of the expiation, and is it permissible to give it as part of the gifts for the high school graduates from his brothers' children?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Divorce occurs as a condition on a certain matter, and the obligation of expiation is not a relied-upon statement in the jurisprudential schools. You should refer to the fatwa for that, and God knows best.
