Combining Prayers for a Paralyzed Patient
An elderly man is paralyzed and often finds no one to bring him water for ablution. Can he combine the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer, and the sunset prayer with the night prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to combine with such excuses, and he can perform a symbolic combination, by praying the noon prayer at the end of its time, and praying the afternoon prayer at the beginning of its time, and likewise for the sunset and night prayers, or he can perform dry ablution for the prayer if he cannot access water himself, and God knows best.
