Combining Charity and Zakat

Question
Can the money paid for the Zakat of students of knowledge be considered a continuous charity for their parents, and is this intention valid if the money paid is Zakat and not charity?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Charity is different from zakat, and spending zakat money on students of religious knowledge has the reward of ongoing charity and its ruling, and an additional reward, and there is no need for another intention. One must assess the benefit from one student to another, which is better in assisting a group or an individual. This is because it is not correct to combine two intentions in zakat and other acts of worship; it will fall on the stronger one, which is zakat. And God knows best.
