Claiming the debt that the heir forgave

Question
I borrowed an amount from my uncle, and two weeks before his death, he forgave me the amount, and his daughter and my aunt's daughter (his nursing daughter) were witnesses to his words. However, the heirs are now demanding the debt from me. Am I obligated to pay?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If he forgives you before his death, you are not required to repay it. However, if he forgives you during his illness, if the debt is less than a third of the wealth he left behind, you are not required to repay it. If it is more than a third of the wealth, you must repay what exceeds the third. And God knows best.
