Question
I live in Europe and my wife has passed away. I have grown children, and I converted to Islam in front of a Sheikh without publicly announcing my conversion due to the complicated procedures for doing so. I want to marry a Muslim girl in a civil marriage according to what is practiced here. Is this marriage permissible?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If it includes offer and acceptance and you brought two witnesses to witness this contract, it is valid; for its components are present, and it preserves the rights of the wife and children. And God knows best.
