Question
Is a person obligated to inherit the legal school of thought from their parents, or do they have the right to choose a school of thought according to their conviction?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible for a person to adhere to the rulings of Sharia in a school of thought that differs from that of his family, and it is also permissible for him to switch from one school of thought to another, and God knows best.
