Changing the Intention of Charity to the Intention of Zakat

Question

I used to regularly give a monthly amount from my salary to the poor and needy. Then I sold a piece of land and deposited the money in the bank. Is it permissible for me to change the intention of my monthly contribution from charity to the intention of Zakat, so that I complete the amount of Zakat before a year passes on the money I deposited in the bank?

Answer

I say, and with God's success: As long as you possess the amount of the nisab, which is the value of 100 grams of gold, it is permissible for you to pay the zakat in full from now or in the form of monthly installments. It is preferable for you to continue your charity for the sake of Allah, as you have started with good, so do not abandon it, and pay your zakat separately. And Allah knows best.
