Question
What is the ruling on the blood that comes out during childbirth?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The blood that comes out after the birth of the least of the child is not considered postpartum bleeding, unlike the blood that comes out after the birth of the majority of the child, even if it comes out in parts, not less than that. If she fears missing the prayer, she should perform ablution if she can, or perform dry ablution (tayammum) if she cannot. She should gesture for the prayer if she is unable to bow or prostrate. If she does not pray, she will be disobedient to her Lord. Refer to: Rad al-Muhtar 1: 199, and others, and God knows best.
