Benefiting from a Trust Without the Owner's Knowledge
My friend entrusted me with a quantity of gold jewelry, and when the price of gold rose, I sold part of it without her knowledge. When the prices dropped, I sold it again and made a profit from that sale, and I bought my friend the same pieces that I sold with the same weight and shape. What is the ruling on this action? And what is the ruling on accepting gifts of private funds from this woman who handled the deposit?

I say, and with God's help: Your handling of the deposit contradicts trust and is considered betrayal, and the money you gained from it is impure and you must give it in charity, and God knows best.
