Question
A woman deposited an amount of money in a bank, and the bank sent her profits of a certain value. What is the ruling on these profits? Is it permissible to give them as charity?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the deposit is usurious by placing the money in a usurious bank, then the profits generated from it are considered illicit gains, and you should give them in charity. As for the principal amount, it remains in its original permissible state, and God knows best.
