I say, and with God's success: Whoever applies a medicine to the wound that prevents water from reaching it, like an ointment or otherwise, and is unable to wash it, must run water over it. If he is unable to do that, he must wipe it. Then, if he is unable to do that, he should wash the area around it and leave it.
