Allocating One of the Sons with the Gift

Question
A mother owns a piece of land and wishes to give it to one of her sons, but he refused and wants to buy it from her at its price, fearing that his siblings would be unhappy about her giving it to him for free. The mother inquired about the price, which was estimated at fifty thousand Jordanian dinars. She informed her children that she would sell it to her son for forty thousand dinars and forgive him ten thousand dinars, meaning he would effectively pay thirty thousand dinars. Some of the siblings were satisfied, while others protested that this was unfair to them because he was taking twenty thousand from the price, and they were not pleased with this arrangement. Does the mother incur any sin with this action? Knowing that she wants to give the male children part of the land's price, but some of them feel wronged because their brother took the land with a ten thousand dinar discount and she is also forgiving him another ten thousand?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: It is recommended by Sharia to treat children equally in gifts; for equality has an effect in preventing grudges among them. If there is no justification for the mother, such as a specific need for one of her children over the others due to extreme poverty or illness, then she should divide among them equally. This is the safest for everyone, and God knows best.
