A Woman Wearing a Iron Ring
How do we reconcile the hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'Seek even if it is a ring of iron,' with the fatwa that states it is disliked for women to wear accessories made of iron and copper?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: This hadith is opposed by other hadiths that prohibited wearing iron and copper, and the majority of jurisprudential schools have adopted this. This hadith is interpreted to mean that the iron is coated with silver, so that it does not harm the wearer. And God knows best.
