A Sacrifice for One in Debt
I have been saving an amount for the sacrifice since last year, but I have debts. Is it permissible to change the intention and use this amount to pay off the debt?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: It is not obligatory for a poor person in debt to perform the sacrifice, and you have the right to manage the money in a way that is suitable for repaying the debt and other matters, and God knows best.
