A fasting person who backbitten someone and thought that it would invalidate his fast, then ate deliberately afterwards

Question
What is the ruling on a fasting person who backbitten someone and thought that it would invalidate his fast, then ate deliberately afterwards?
Answer

He must make up the fast and pay a compensation, and if he consulted a scholar or interpreted a hadith, it would not be considered valid; because the fatwa of the scholar or his interpretation of the hadith is not taken into account here, as this is something that is not ambiguous to someone who has a characteristic of jurisprudence. See Al-Badai 2: 100.
