Zakat on Saved Money
The children have gathered an amount of money to perform Hajj on behalf of their mother, may Allah have mercy on her, and this money has completed a year. Do they owe Zakat on it?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Zakat is not obligatory on him; because it is not owned by a specific person but is donated for pilgrimage, and God knows best.
