Question
I work in a large retail store in America as a cashier. When I started the job, I didn't know that the store sells alcohol. After I started, I discovered that it sells it, but I am not allowed to sell it (I can only carry it on rare occasions). The store also sells pork; I don't handle it, but as a cashier, I scan the code for it and sometimes put it in bags. Is this considered haram?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible for you to work in the shop and carry wine and pork, but it is forbidden for you to engage in a sales contract involving them, even by scanning the code; because it is a contract concerning them, and it is not permissible for a Muslim to sell them. And God knows best.
