Vow of I'tikaf for a Night
What is the ruling for someone who vowed to perform I'tikaf for a night?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The vow is not valid; because a night is not a place for fasting, and obligatory I'tikaf is not valid without it. See: Al-Tahbih 1: 353, and God knows best.
