The Ruling on the Wife of the Deceased
In one of the fatwas, you said: the answer is that the wife of the deceased can accept (the marriage) because she is in the waiting period, while in another fatwa you said: the marriage ends with death. Why did you consider in the first case that the wife is in the waiting period and in the second case you did not consider it?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: In the case of a woman, the effects of marriage remain because she is in the waiting period, while in the case of a man, the effects of marriage do not remain because he is not in the waiting period. And God knows best.
