The Ruling on Vows
Many years ago, I encountered a problem and I sought help from Allah, and the problem was resolved. After hearing the good news on the phone, I said I would offer a sacrifice for the sake of Allah, if Allah wills. Is this a vow, and what is the ruling if I have not done it until now?

I say, and with God's help: this formulation does not contain a definitive commitment to the vow, so it is not obligatory, and God knows best.
