The Ruling on Swearing by Divorce

Question
If a man swore to his wife by divorce, and everything he swore about later turned out to be incorrect, knowing that this was twenty years ago, what is the legal solution in this case?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: His statement is considered an oath, and he is required to atone for the oath by feeding ten needy people with an amount of two dirhams for each one. In Durar al-Hukam 1: 377: "If he meant by his statement: whenever it becomes permissible, it becomes forbidden; divorce, then it is nothing, and if he did not intend it as a divorce, it is an oath."
