Question
A person passed away and owed money to people, and one of them forgave his right. After the inheritance was divided, he returned to claim his right. Does he have a right after the division of the inheritance, and is the deceased held accountable?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: If he issued explicit statements waiving his right, he no longer has a right after the division of the inheritance. However, it is preferable for the heirs to give him his right, and Allah knows best.
