Question
Ten years ago, I made a vow, but I don't remember its exact wording. However, I recall that I said I would sacrifice two animals and fast for two consecutive months. The problem is that circumstances have changed and become very bad, and I am unable to fulfill the vow. Is there an expiation for the vow?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: You must fulfill the fasting that you vowed, and the value of the two sacrifices remains a debt to God upon you. You can pay it in cash in installments whenever you have an amount to donate as part of the value of the two sacrifices, and God knows best.
