The Ruling on Not Fulfilling a Vow

Question
If a person vowed to complete the Quran every month, and he was unable to do so, what are the consequences?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: A vow is only required for a specific act of worship such as prayer, fasting, charity, or pilgrimage. Reciting the Quran is not a specific act of worship, so a vow made for it is invalid, and nothing is required of him. God knows best.
