The Ruling on Breaking an Oath

Question
He swore to his wife that she would not go to her father's house, and he took her there himself. Does he have to pay a expiation for breaking his oath?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If he swore that she would not go alone, nor with him, there is no expiation upon him. But if he swore that she would not go at all, whether with him or alone, then he must expiate the oath. And God knows best.
