Question
There was a quarrel between me and my husband, and I swore an oath not to do a certain thing, but I did it later out of necessity at my husband's request. Is this considered an oath, and do I have to make expiation?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: It is considered an oath, and you are required to pay the expiation for the oath; because you have broken your oath, which is twenty Jordanian dinars for ten needy people, and God knows best.
