The Obligation of Zakat al-Fitr
I live on a salary and have no other income, and my family, thank God, is large, and my financial situation is as it is, so is it permissible for me to give Zakat al-Fitr?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory for anyone who possesses the nisab of deprivation, which is the value of 100 grams of gold in addition to their basic needs, and it is not obligatory for anyone who does not possess that amount. And God knows best.
