Question
What is the ruling if the wealth is destroyed due to a fire after it has reached the nisab and a year has passed?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the wealth is lost due to a natural disaster: that is, without your action, then the zakat is waived from you and nothing is required of you, as mentioned in "Radd al-Muhtar," 2: 21, and "Sharh al-Wiqayah," Q54/A-B, and God knows best.
