The Death of Game After Mandatory Slaughter
If the rabbit dies before being slaughtered with a knife, is it permissible to eat it? Whether it is a rabbit or another type of animal?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the rabbit is game, it is permissible to eat it as soon as it is wounded, not by slaughtering it, if it dies before the hunter reaches it and is able to slaughter it. If it is domesticated, it is only permissible to eat it by slaughtering it with a knife, and the same applies to other animals. And God knows best.
