Taking confiscated goods and benefiting from them
My friend works in security agencies and sometimes they confiscate some goods from people because they violate certain laws, then he distributes some of them to his friends. Is it permissible for me to take them or are they considered illicit gains that must be given in charity?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Your friend's action is forbidden; because it is not his right to dispose of it as he wishes, and it is not permissible for you to take it; because it is the property of others, and it is illicit gain, and God knows best.
