Ruling on Inheritance of Jewelry Gold
A woman has passed away, and she has three young children, a husband, and a mother. How should the inheritance be divided among them? Is there Zakat due on this gold?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The husband gets one-fourth, the mother gets one-sixth, and the remainder goes to the children, with the male receiving the share of two females. Zakat is required on the gold if it reaches the Nisab, and God knows best.
