I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to replace the splint with another after wiping it, and it is not required to re-wipe the one placed as a substitute; because it is like washing what is underneath it, and it has been lifted with the first wipe, just as if he wiped his head and then shaved it. It is preferable to re-wipe the splint due to the ambiguity of substitution, unlike wiping over the socks, which is invalidated by their removal.
