Pronouncing the Intention
I heard a lecture stating that one should not pronounce the intention by saying: I intend to pray four rak'ahs of Dhuhr, for example, while I am pronouncing it at the beginning of the prayer. Does my prayer become invalid or is it not valid if I pronounce the intention?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: uttering the intention is neither a condition nor a pillar, but it is recommended, and the prayer is not invalidated by it, and God knows best.
