Giving Value Instead of Aqiqah
Can I instead of slaughtering for the Aqiqah give the equivalent amount in charity? I have two sons, how much can I pay for their Aqiqah if this is permissible for me according to Islamic law?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The 'Aqiqah' is an act of devotion for the sake of Allah, and it is permissible to give charity for the sake of Allah instead of it for its value, and Allah knows best.
