Forced Marriage
Is it permissible to contract a marriage under coercion from the families of both parties, whether the man or the woman, knowing that they are both adults over the age of 18, and the marriage was contracted under force and violence against both parties, while neither of them wants the other?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: It is not permissible to force someone into marriage, and if both spouses or one of them proves to the judge that coercion occurred, the judge will annul the contract, and God knows best.
