Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible as long as it does not lead to severing ties on the other days, and that she has no rights over us except on this day. If it serves as a reminder of the rights of the mother upon us, and increases our care for her more and more, and becomes a reason for honoring her and fulfilling our duties towards her, then it is good. Anas reported that the Prophet said: "Paradise lies under the feet of mothers" in Musnad Al-Shihab 1: 102, and in Al-Mu'jam Al-Kabir 2: 289, and in Sunan Al-Kubra by Al-Nasa'i 4: 272 with the wording: "So be with her, for Paradise is at her feet," and in Musnad Ahmad 24: 299, and in Kashf Al-Khafa 1: 387: Al-Hakim said: The chain of narration is authentic, although it was criticized for its inconsistency. This is a metaphor for the utmost submission and the peak of humility towards the mother, as mentioned in Mirqat Al-Mafatih 7: 3097, as in His saying: {And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy} [Al-Isra: 24]. And Ibn Amr said: "A man came to the Prophet asking for permission to fight in jihad, and he said: Do you have parents? He said: Yes. He said: Then strive for them" in Sunan Al-Tirmidhi 4: 191, and he said: It is good and authentic. And Allah knows best.
