Building Houses for Endowment from Zakat Funds
Is it considered one of the expenditures of zakat to give it to refugees for building houses, where these houses are an endowment and not owned by them?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The wealth of zakat must be owned by the poor, and it is not permissible for it to be an endowment, even if it is for the poor; due to the lack of the condition of ownership, and God knows best.
