Breaking an Oath
I swore an oath that I would not go anywhere, and I felt that my mother was very upset, so is it possible for me to go so that I do not anger her, and what should I do?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: You must break the oath and go fulfill the need, and you are required to atone for the oath, which is to feed ten needy people, which is approximately 20 Jordanian dinars. If you are poor and do not have it, you are required to fast three consecutive days, and God knows best.
