How do we respond to those who say that the known religious holidays in Islam are Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and the weekly holiday (Friday), and that there are no other holidays in Islam besides these three? Any holidays that have been introduced beyond these are rejected and invalid in the Sharia of Allah, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever introduces something into this matter of ours that is not part of it, it will be rejected." Therefore, it is not permissible to introduce any of the holiday rituals, such as showing joy and happiness, giving gifts, and the like, on the holiday called Mother's Day. A Muslim must cherish and take pride in their religion and adhere strictly to what Allah has prescribed for His servants without adding to it or subtracting from it. Also, is there a problem with using the word 'holiday' for these occasions?
