Question
What is the amount of Zakat al-Fitr for each individual, and what is the difference between it and Zakat al-Mal?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The Zakat al-Fitr is two dinars, and it is only obligatory for anyone who possesses the nisab of wealth, which is 100 grams, in addition to the essential needs such as housing, a car, furniture, and others. Its amount is one dinar and eighty qirsh. Therefore, anyone who does not have surplus money of this amount is not obligated to pay Zakat al-Fitr, unlike regular zakat, which has its own nisab for those who possess it to pay their wealth zakat. And God knows best.
